The IAD reported on a telephone conversation between himself, the IETF Counsel, and Brian Menkes of Hale and Dorr with Patrice Lyon and John Steward of CNRI about the proposed IETF Trust. The primary topic of discussion on the call was the tax implications of setting up the Trust.

The IAOC Chair described a conversation she had with Robert Kahn of CNRI about the proposed IETF Trust.

The IETF Chair reported that the BCP 101 update was through last call and would shortly be dealt with by the IESG as part of the normal approval process.

This topic briefly discussed and then deferred as there was no new news.
House Keeping
The ISOC Board will be discussing the ISOC Budget during their meeting on October 29-30, and the IAOC is in the process of preparing the 2006 IAOC budget for presentation at that meeting. The IAD had sent a preliminary budget to the IAOC on the previous day, and various budgetary items and assumptions were discussed at length.

The IAOC Chair reminded the IAOC that it is now almost 6 months since the IAD was hired, and that it was time for his initial performance review.
