Alternate Streams Spec Requirements RFP ========================================== Ray Pelletier provided an overview on the proposed Alternate Streams Spec Requirements RFP. This is the 2nd Spec Requirements RFP. The first was the WG & Author data tracker extension. This RFP addresses specification requirements for the Alternate Streams data tracker extensions. The primary goal of this project is to develop consensus on a set of requirements for extending the Data Tracker to capture and display the progression of Internet- Drafts (I-Ds) from the time they are accepted as candidates for the IAB, IRTF, or Independent Submissions document stream through to the time the stream manager approves publication as an RFC or the document is declared to be ÒDead.Ó The Data Tracker provides the community the information needed to process, monitor and manage I-Ds in an open and transparent manner. The deliverables for this RFP include: a.) Refine the I-D, Requirements on I-D Tracker Extensions for IAB and IRTF Document Shepherds to cover the Independent Submissions stream and describe three separate state machines, one for each of the supported streams; b.) Participate in IETF 78 to refine and revise the Requirements; and c.) Submit a revised I-D by 20 August 2010. The proposed RFP has been recommended by the subcommittee members including Russ Housley, Bob Hinden, Henrik Levkowetz, and Ray Pelletier. The expected timeline for this activity is: 9 April 2010 -- Announcement 3 May 2010 -- Proposals Due 13 May 2010 -- IAOC selects vendor for negotiations 20 Aug 2010 -- Final Deliverable September 2010 -- IDIQ contract for Software Development Ray Pelletier provided the following proposed resolution: Resolved that the IAOC approves an RFP to be issued on 9 April with the foregoing Deliverables and Tasks for the Requirements Development for IAB, IRTF, and Independent Document Stream Extensions to the Data Tracker Russ Housley moved, and Marshall Eubanks seconded the proposed motion. There was no discussion. A roll call vote was taken. Lynn St. Amour [YES] Eric Burger [YES] Marshall Eubanks [YES] Bob Hinden [YES] Russ Housley [YES] Olaf Kolkman [YES] The motion passed unanimously. 2. AMS Work Order ================= Ray Pelletier provided an overview of the AMS Work Order. AMS is currently under contract to perform duties as the Secretariat for the IETF. Article 6 of the contract permits the assignment of Additional Work through a Work Order. AMS is being requested to convert the Rolodex application that manages contacts in the Data Tracker from Perl script to python using the Django framework. This is the first in a series of Secretariat tools being so converted. This work will belong to the IETF Trust and would be conveyed to the next vendor whenever appropriate. The cost of the project falls within the IT Capital Investment 2010 Budget. Ray Pelletier provided the following proposed resolution: The IAOC approves AMS to convert the Rolodex Perl scripts to python at a cost of [confidential] and requests the Internet Society to enter into a Work Order to effect the project Russ Housley moved, and Bob Hinden seconded the proposed motion. There was no discussion. A roll call vote was taken: Lynn St. Amour [YES] Eric Burger [YES] Marshall Eubanks [YES] Bob Hinden [YES] Russ Housley [YES] Olaf Kolkman [YES] The motion passed unanimously. 3. IESG Data Tracker Porting Work Order ======================================= Ray Pelletier provided an overview of the IESG Data Tracker Porting Work Order. IOLA is under contract to perform python development work through an IDIQ Master Services Agreement (MSA). The IESG Data Tracker Porting Work Order is the 1st in a series of Work Orders under the MSA. The goal of the project is to port the existing IESG Data Tracker interface to Django. A Work Order has been developed based on a SOW developed by Henrik Levkowetz, Russ Housley, Bob Hinden, and Ray Pelletier. The project begins 1 May and will take 5 weeks to complete. The resulting code will belong to the IETF Trust. Henrik will be the PM for the project. The project falls within the IT Capital Investment 2010 Budget. Ray Pelletier provided the following proposed resolution: The IAOC approves IOLA to port the IESG datatracker interface to Django at a cost of [confidential] and requests the Internet Society to enter into a Work Order to effect the project. Russ Housley moved, and Marshall Eubanks seconded the proposed motion. There was a question for clarification on the role of the PM in this effort. A roll call vote was taken: Lynn St. Amour [YES] Eric Burger [YES] Marshall Eubanks [YES] Bob Hinden [YES] Russ Housley [YES] Olaf Kolkman [YES] The motion passed unanimously. 4. Day Pass Experiment in Maastricht ==================================== Ray Pelletier provided an overview of the status of the Day Pass Experiment discussions. The question before the IAOC is whether or not to continue the Day Pass (DP) program from Anaheim in Maastricht. Additional data and analysis is required in order to make the decision. The IAOC would like to be able to consider this topic during the upcoming IAOC retreat. The community needs to be informed that the Day Pass is still under consideration. An announcement will be prepared that indicates the IAOC is still evaluating the Day Pass for Maastricht and that a decision will be announced well in advance of the meeting. 5. Network Support IETF 77 & IETF 78 ==================================== The network for the IETF77 meeting was provided by a new network contractor, Swisscom. This was an effort to qualify a second vendor to provide this service at future IETF meetings. Swisscom's technical and management performance in the design, deployment, and operation of the network was reviewed. The costs of procuring a circuit for Anaheim were quite high, and as a result, opportunities to recover some of that cost are being investigated. A number of options are being considered for the IETF78 NOC in Maastricht. A decision will be made the week of 10 May 2010. 6. RFC Editor Restructuring Update ================================== Olaf Kolkman provided an update on the status of the RFC Editor Restructuring effort. A report from the TRSE (Glenn Kowack) is expected by COB Monday. An outline of the expected report has been provided. Regular meetings have not started yet. Bob Hinden and Olaf Kolkman will meet with Glenn starting next Thursday (15 April 2010). Initial comments on the outline included that cross-stream coordination and production/publisher aspects need to be addressed as well. 7. 2014 - 2017 Calendar Update ============================== The development of the 2014 - 2017 calendar is underway. The clash list has been reviewed and potential dates identified. The next steps are to send the proposed dates to the list. The expectation is that the IAOC will adopt the calendar in the May/June timeframe and a region cycle plan in the June timeframe. 8. Retreat Agenda ================= The IAOC Retreat will be held Tuesday, 27 April (0900 - 1700) and Wednesday, 28 April (0800/0900 - 1500/1600). A draft agenda will be sent to the list next Monday for comment. Bob Hinden adjourned the IAOC meeting at 11:00 am EDT.
