Past Projects

IETF Website Revamp

The website revamp project is updating the IETF's public-facing website (www.ietf.org), providing a "front door" for the IETF, including access to all the information that IETF participants need to accomplish their work.

The IETF website needs to reflect and advance the position of the IETF as the premiere Internet standards organization that gathers a large open international community of network designers, operators, vendors, and researchers concerned with the evolution of the Internet architecture and the smooth operation of the Internet.

The website must embody the excellent implementation of open standards as it supports the requirements of active IETF participants, as well as the efforts of those who seek to implement them.

In response to community feedback gathered via email and around the IETF 98 and IETF 99 meetings, changes have been made to address issues reported with accessibility (WCAG 2.0 compliance), site performance, and content tailored for IETF participants. Additional interviews with new, or non-IETF participants have been conducted and several suggestions they have raised have also been addressed.

The pre-production website can be seen at:

https://beta.ietf.org

We are continuing to fine tune content and welcome additional feedback from the community. In person office hours will be held during IETF 100. Details will be posted on a sign around the IETF meeting registration desk. Issues can also be filed at:

https://github.com/ietf/www.ietf.org/issues/

One significant task remaining is to ensure continuity for important URLs, as specified in the SOW. We expect to tackle that after IETF 100.
